Compression boots, also known as compression therapy or pneumatic compression devices, are a type of recovery tool designed to aid in post-exercise recovery and alleviate muscle soreness. These boots consist of inflatable chambers that are wrapped around the legs, typically from the feet to the thighs. The user wears the boots, and they are connected to a device that controls the inflation and deflation of the chambers. Here's how compression boots work and their benefits for recovery: Enhanced Circulation: The primary function of compression boots is to improve blood circulation in the lower extremities. The intermittent compression and release of pressure created by the inflatable chambers help facilitate the movement of blood through the veins, promoting better circulation. Improved blood flow can aid in the removal of metabolic waste products and toxins from the muscles. Reduced Muscle Sor A post event Sports Massage is used after an intense bout of exercise or activity, competition or training session. Our aim is to assist the body throughout it's recovery process. The massage can help to reduce inflammation and the feeling of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) by increasing vascular and lymphatic activity to aid the body as it tries to reduce waste products such as lactic acid which is created when we train hard. With this massage our techniques will be slower and slightly deeper to help flush and drain the waste products. This will hopefully reduce your levels of post event pain and DOMS, recover quicker so you can get back to movement and training and to reduce the risk of injury which can occur from overly tight muscles. Regular massage treatments at Clinic Sports Therapy also provides you with a chance to regularly consult with university qualified trained medical professionals, who can give you constant advice to help you stay healthy and injury free. Upon your first massage session, it is likely that your therapist will do a quick assessment to rule out serious injury or pathology.
